Parsons has left the island

We have finally all made it to New Jersey and the view is fantastic!  This morning marked the first day that the entire team landed in New Jersey from the far reaches of Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and even Staten Island.  Don’t get too excited yet – many of us are still in the computer lab, albeit a new one, plugging away on the ol’ PCs trying to shore up all the materials ordering.  But that doesn’t mean we aren’t relishing our new surroundings.  You know, many people give New Jersey a lot of guff but over here in Hoboken it’s pretty nice.  First off, the streets are clean.  This is especially nice given that the summer heat has arrived.  The trash in NYC gets awfully smelly.  Second, we’ve got Manhattan views!  There’s nothing like a fresh perspective on the city.  Pedestrians also have the right-of-way on this side of the Hudson.  That makes for easier walking and less noise pollution.  Now this might just be a Parson’s vs. Steven’s thing but the new workroom at Steven’s has sunlight and better air circulation compared to our old headquarters in Manhattan.  You should feel how much lighter the mood is.  Add to that that breakfast and lunch are catered – no more Manhattan lunch prices.  Even though most of our commutes are an hour longer and involve several transfers, this New Jersey place might just be worth it.  Now if we could only find a boat to get us back home….
