Empowerhouse presents at 15th International Passive House Conference

In beautiful Innsbruck, Austria, with all the beautiful traditionally built houses, one would not expect that change in the way we are building in this world today would come from here. But this week there is a group of over 1200 architects and builders from around the globe gathered in Innsbruck to talk about the most recent developments in the Passive House low energy construction sector. Jörg Thöne, a faculty member of the Empowerhouse team, was able to go to this conference and present the Empowerhouse project and the research done on linking 3D modeling tools with the intricate Passsive House planning tool PHPP. The room was full of interested passive house planners that were eager to learn about the possibility of a tool to simplify the analysis process and get viable feedback on the performance of a building in the design process. It turns out that there is a great interest in such a tool and the Passive House Institute in Germany and members of Parsons the New School have started conversations about cooperating in this field to continue exploring the possibilities and working on applicable solutions.
